Seasonal Challenges and Immune System

Help your Immune System to overcome seasonal challenges

Seasonal challenges are not a myth, and sound choices can set patients on the right path. Your immune system needs some support and it is your decision how to support it.

Lifestyle choices for immune health.

1. Have a healthy diet.

A balanced diet rich in whole grains, vegetables, fruits and some lean proteins will give a body nutrition it needs to support healthy immune system. Choosing whole foods full in nutrients and avoiding processed foods will fuel the system for wellness.

2. Exercise.

Many people spend most of workdays sitting at a desk. Adding just 20 minutes walk can help support stress relief, healthy circulation, and improved mood.  In addition, engaging in cardio-vascular and strength exercises will help to keep body strong. Exercises will increase blood circulation, metabolism, increase strength, flexibility and prevent future injury.

3. Get eight hours of sleep.

Our body restores itself during a sleep. Not getting enough sleep can affect many aspects of life, both physically and mentally. Lack of sleep can be stressful for immune system and impact immune defenses. Everybody knows that when you are under the stress, you can catch the cold or flu easier.

4. Take time out.

During the change of seasons when we are dealing with immune challenges, it is best to take time out, eat well, and rest. Taking time out gives your body time for rejuvenation, which is very important.
There are some whole food supplements that can be used for the short and long time support of your immune system.

When short–time support is needed (1-2 weeks )

I would recommend:

Congaplex- supports a healthy immune response, provides antioxidant activity, and supports the thymus gland. (thymus gland is responsible for the production of lymphocytes). Congaplex also contains RNA-Ribonucleic Acid –to help the body to build the new cells, and combination of key ingredients from Cataplex A-C, Thymex, and Calcium lactate.

Thymex is a gluten-free formula that supports a healthy thymus gland, the master gland of the immune system.
Andrographis Complex provides ideal short-time support, especially when respiratory system is involved. This herbal blend combines Echinacea, andrographis, and holy basil.

Herbal Throat  Spray Phytosynergist  is a pleasant testing, soothing formula.

Patients just will  spray it into the mouth and swallow when throat is under the stress. This product provides localized immune support for the throat and mouth. The formula contains Echinacea, Marshmallow root, Sage, Calendula, Myrrh, and Clove bud essential oil.

For long -time support you will need:

Immuplex-contains phytochemicals and minerals to support immune system. This product helps to maintain normal white blood cell activity –main line of support.

Cod Liver Oil has a natural profile of vitamin A and D and comes in perles with lemon flavor. Since it is Omega -3 Fatty acid, it demonstrates anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer properties, decreases platelet aggregation-thins the blood and has light hypotensive effect.

Echinacea Premium is made by MediHerb, company located in Australia and working in collaboration with Standard Process. Echinacea Premium is backed by MediHerb specialized expertise in research, manufacturing, and testing of Echinacea. This patented combination of the roots of Echinacea angustifolia and Echinacea purpurea offers superior long-term immune system support.

This is the core protocol for the immune system support. But since we are all genetically different, I can evaluate each patient individually with Nutrition Response Testing and recommend some supplements this particular patient needs. We have MediHerb and Standard Process supplements in the office.

Please, feel free to call with any questions.

I wish a very nice Thanksgiving to you and your family.
